Welcome to the new student email service, readingLive

What is it?

The new Student E-mail Service for the University of Reading, readingLive, is a much improved email service also providing a comprehensive set of online facilities.

It is based on the Microsoft Live@edu service and includes:

• access to email anywhere via web browsers, smartphones and dedicated email clients such as Microsoft Outlook.

• approximately 10GB of email store per user.

• 25GB of online file storage per user via the SkyDrive*

• free to use Microsoft Office application.

• Chat facilities

This email service is accessed via

How does it affect me?

If you have enrolled as an undergraduate after 1^st September 2010 you will automatically be on the readingLive service. Postgraduates will get this service soon after.

If you enrolled before 1^st September 2010 or are returning to finish your course you will be moved on to the new student email service during the next couple of months.

You will be sent an email telling you about the move.
